Ronald McDonald House of Reno Nevada

About Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada

Ronald McDonald House Charities, Northern Nevada is a local nonprofit dedicated to serving families in northern Nevada and surrounding communities.  For the past 21 years, the Ronald McDonald House of Reno has had one main purpose--to help families of sick children by giving them a place to stay while their children are hospitalized.  To date, there are 276 Ronald McDonald Houses in 30 countries providing service to children and families worldwide.  Since the early 1990’s, RMHC has helped families through the Travel for Treatment Program (1992) when medical treatment is not available locally.

In 1998, RMHC Northern Nevada added other programs with the help of RMHC Global matching funds from McDonald’s fundraisers.  These programs include RMHC Outreach Grants (1998), the RMHC Scholarship Program (2000), and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile (2003).  These additional programs allow RMHC to help a greater number of families and children in our area.

The Ronald McDonald House of Reno is for families with children in the hospital who live more than 30 miles away. Our other outreach programs serve families in Reno, Sparks, and surrounding areas. All donations stay locally and 90% of our funding is from our local fundraising events and generous donors
